Richard is a storyteller at heart, with a passion for amplifying underrepresented voices and exploring the intersections of education, politics, and culture. A proud graduate of Florida A&M University—ranked the No. 1 public HBCU by U.S. News & World Report—he earned his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Business Administration, graduating Cum Laude.
Throughout his journalism career, Richard has contributed to a range of respected media outlets, from student-led publications to national newsrooms. His reporting has spanned state politics, higher education policy, and financial literacy, with bylines in outlets such as The Famuan, WFSU Public Media, Barron’s, and Open Campus Media. Whether covering Florida’s legislative session or examining the evolving landscape of HBCUs, Richard brings clarity, depth, and a commitment to public service journalism.
Today, Richard continues his work in education as an admissions professional in higher ed, where he supports students on their journey to and through college—bridging his background in storytelling with a mission to expand access and opportunity.
